Roslyn Lee
was born in Korea in 2006 and moved to the U.S in 2011. She has been studying piano since the age of 4 from her pianist mother Cindy Lee. Roslyn made her debut recital at the age of 6 in 2012 in California.
Roslyn has been playing in various competitions, both in solo and piano ensemble, receiving scholarships and invitations to concert halls. She won 1st place in OPUS Music Competition State Round (2022), 1st place in Charleston International Music Competition (2022), 3rd place in Royal Sound of Music (2022), 1st place in Red Maple Music Competition (2021), Gold Medal from the Passion of Music Festival (2020), 1st place in Roger Bushell Scholarship Competition (2014, 2019), Las Vegas Piano Competition (2019). In the Piano League Star International Competition, she won 1st place in the preliminary round, and 2nd place in the final round (2020, 2021). In the Silver State Competition (2016- 2021), and Legacy Competition (2020), she also won 1st place in the Concerto division in the Silver State Competition (2021).
She has also been performing in the Ensemble Festival, Jazz Festival, and NFMC Junior Festival for many years and received countless ‘superior with honors’. She also played in a “Harmony of the Angels” recital as community service at a senior home. While at Rogich middle school, she played piano solos in her school choir concerts by the invitation of the choir director.
In 2020, Roslyn started to enter international music competitions and was invited to debut concerts in prestigious concert halls. Roslyn made her debut at Carnegie Hall in April, 2022 as a Gold Medalist from the AADGT Passion of Music Festival both in solo and duet. In 2023, she performed at the Lincoln Center as a recipient of The Best Soloist Award and the Piano Gold Medal. She also performed at Carnegie Hall a second time in 2023 by invitation as the Gold Medalist of the New York Young Artist Music Festival. Not only in America, she also performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England by invitation as the 1st Prize Winner of the Grand Virtuoso Competition in 2023.
Besides these competitions, Roslyn places in numerous international Competitions. She won 1st place in the International Music Competition Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso and was invited to perform at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. She also won 1st place in the International Music Competition Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso and was invited to perform at the Centre for Fine Arts of Brussels, Belgium. She was also invited to perform in concerts in Toronto, Canada several times by placing in the Royal Sound Music Competition, Red Maple Competition, 21st Century Talents Music Competition, and Kaleidoscope Music Competition.
Most recently in the 2023 Universal Stars Music Competition, Roslyn received the All-Stars Award, Platinum Prize in the Young Artist category, Platinum Prize in the Modern Music Stars category, Gold Prize in the Piano Stars category, and Gold Prize in the Romantic Music Stars category. Also, in the 2023 Van Bach International Music Competition, she received the Absolute First Prize in the Young Artist category, Absolute First Prize in the Modern Music category, Absolute First Prize in the Romantic Music category, and the Excellent Interpretation Special Award.
Roslyn also performed in the concert series “Music of Women Composers” at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center in March, 2022. In April, 2022, Roslyn had her own piano recital at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Henderson, Nevada. In 2023, she performed at the Smith Center as a Guest Artist, invited by the President of Nevada School of the Arts (NSA) for the NSA International Competition Winner’s Concert and Ceremony despite not having entered the competition.
Roslyn has had a passion for piano ensemble as well and has been playing piano duet/duo with her partner for 7 years; they have played in numerous recitals, festivals, and competitions. The team played in the NFMC Ensemble Festival for several years and received Superior with Honor almost every year. In 2020, they received the Gold Medal for Piano Duet from the AADGT Passion of Music Festival and performed at Carnegie Hall in April of 2022 through invite. In 2023, Roslyn and her partner received 1st Place for Piano Duet in the International Music Competition Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso and were invited to perform at the Centre for Fine Arts of Brussels, Belgium. They have also won 1st place in many local competitions such as the Roger Bushell Competition, Legacy Competition, and Silver State Competition several times. In the Silver State Competition, Roslyn and her duet partner went undefeated for 6 years, winning 1st place every year from 2017-2022.
Roslyn was the leader/coordinator of the Community Service Concert “Harmony of The Angels” in 2020. She was also the leader of a piano quartet team in 2018 and her team played for the NFMC Ensemble Festival and received Superior with Honor as well as competed in the Silver State Competition and won 1st place.
Roslyn has an interest in music composition as well. She entered her original compositions in the Silver State Competition in 2019 and 2021 and won 1st place both years. She likes to sing as well and received Superior in the 2019 NFMC Junior Festival for Musical Theater Junior III.
Roslyn has been teaching young students as a teaching assistant of her mother/teacher, Mrs. Cindy Lee, since the 2022-2023 school year. Roslyn is currently studying pre-nursing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
